830 - Abu Hafs narrated to us, saying: Muhammad ibn Yusuf narrated to us, saying: Sufyan narrated to us, from Mansur, from Ibrahim, from Alqama, from Abd Allah, that he used to recite in the last rak'ah of the Fajr [prayer]: the end of Ali 'Imran and the end of al-Furqan.
831 - 'Amr ibn 'Uthman narrated to us, saying: al-Walid ibn Muslim narrated to us, from Abu 'Amr al-Awza'i, from Yahya ibn Abi Kathir, from Abd Allah ibn Mas'ud, that he prayed the 'Isha prayer, and he recited in the first rak'ah: {Indeed, in the creation of the heavens and the earth and the alternation of the night and the day are signs for those of understanding...} until he finished the surah, and he recited in the second rak'ah: {Blessed is He who has placed in the sky great stars and placed therein a lamp and a shining moon...} until he finished the surah.
Chapter: Reciting the Quran in Reverse Order
• It was said to Ahmad: A man recites {Exalt the name of your Lord, the Most High} in one rak'ah, and {By the sky containing great stars} in a second rak'ah? He said: "There is no harm in that; is not the young boy taught that way?"
832 - Yahya al-Himmani narrated to us, saying: Mandal narrated to us, from Ja'far ibn Muhammad—and it is not the 'Alawi [one]—from his father, from Ibn 'Umar, who said: "The Prophet (peace be upon him) led us in the Fajr prayer while on a journey, and he recited in the first rak'ah {Say, 'He is Allah, [who is] One,'} and in the second [he recited] {Say, 'O disbelievers.'}"
