837 - Yahya ibn 'Abd al-Hamid narrated to us, saying: Qays narrated to us, from Muhammad ibn al-Hakam, who said: "Abu Wa'il led us in prayer, and he recited one verse, then he bowed."
838 - Hudbah ibn Khalid narrated to us, saying: Jarir ibn Hazim narrated to us, saying: al-Walid ibn Marwan narrated to us, saying: "I saw Jabir ibn Zayd come to the mosque of the Jahadim, and he said the Takbir, then he recited the Fatihah of the Book, then he said, '{They are of dark green color [mudhammatan]}' (Surah al-Rahman: 64), and then he bowed."
839 - Ishaq narrated to us, saying: Sufyan informed us, from al-Zuhri, from Mahmud ibn al-Rabi', from 'Ubadah ibn al-Samit - may Allah be pleased with him - from the Prophet, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, who said: "There is no prayer for one who does not recite the Fatihah of the Book in it."
840 - Muhammad ibn al-Wazir narrated to us, saying: al-Walid ibn Muslim narrated to us, saying: Sa'id ibn 'Abd al-'Aziz informed me, [407] from Isma'il ibn 'Ubaydullah, from 'Uthman ibn Abi Sawdah, from his mother, that 'Ubadah ibn al-Samit - may Allah be pleased with him - said to her: "O Sawdah, do not perform any prayer unless you recite in it the Mother of the Quran and two verses."
