861 - Bishr ibn Hilal narrated to us, saying: 'Abd al-Warith informed us, saying: Ayyub al-Sakhtiyani narrated to us, from Ibn Sirin, who said: I asked 'Ubaydah, saying: 'Did I catch one rak'ah of the Maghrib prayer with the Imam?' 'Ubaydah replied: 'Whatever you catch with the Imam is the beginning of your prayer.'
862 - 'Abd al-Wahhab ibn al-Dahhak narrated to us, saying: Marwan ibn Mu'awiyah narrated to us, from Humayd al-Tawil, from Anas ibn Malik (may Allah be pleased with him), who said: The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: 'When one of you comes to the prayer, let him walk with his composure (1), let him pray what he catches, and let him complete what he missed.'
863 - Abu Bakr al-Humaydi narrated to us, saying: Sufyan narrated to us, saying: Al-Zuhri narrated to us, from Sa'id ibn al-Musayyib, from Abu Hurayrah, who said: The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: 'When you come to the prayer, do not come while you are running; come while you are walking, and upon you is tranquility. Whatever you catch, pray it, and whatever you miss, make it up.'
(1) The copyist omitted its letters, and it may possibly be: "hīnatihi" (his composure), as it appears in several sources. The narration of Abu Dawud supports what I have established, in which it states: "let him walk as he was walking."
٨٦١ - حدثنا بِشر بن هلال، قال: أبنا عبد الوارِث، قال: ثنا أيوب السختياني، عن ابن سيرين، قال: سألت عبيدة، قلت: أدرَكت مَعَ الإمام رَكعَةً من المغرِب؟ فقال عبيدة: «ما أدرَكت مَعَ الإمام فهو أوَّل صَلاتك».
٨٦٢ - حدثنا عبد الوهاب بن الضَّحَّاك، قال: ثنا مَروان بن مُعاويَة، عن حُمَيد الطويل، عن أنس بن مالك -رضي الله عنه-، قال: قال رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم: «إذا جاء أحَدُكم إلى الصَّلاة؛ فَليَمشِ على هيئتِه (١)، فَليُصَلِّ ما أدرَك، وليَقضِ ما سَبَقَه».
٨٦٣ - حدثنا أبو بكر الحُمَيدي، قال: ثنا سُفيان، قال: ثنا الزُّهري، عن سَعيد بن المسيَّب، عن أبي هُرَيرَة، قال: قال النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم: «إذا أتَيتُم الصَّلاة فلا تأتوها وأنتُم تَسعَون، وأتوها وأنتُم تَمشون، وعليكم السَّكينَة، فما أدرَكتُم فَصَلّوا، وما فاتَكُم فاقضوا».
(١) أهمل الناسخ حروفها، ويحتمل فيها: "هِينَته"، وكذلك جاء في عدة مصادر، وأيد ما أثبت: رواية أبي داود، وفيها: "فَليَمشِ نحو ما كان يمشي".
