Chapter: Reciting 'Amin' Aloud
• I heard Ahmad ibn Hanbal say: 'The Imam and those behind him shall recite "Amin" aloud.'
864 - Ahmad narrated to us, saying: Rawh ibn 'Ubadah narrated to us, from Ibn Jurayj, from Musa ibn 'Uqbah, from Nafi', from Ibn 'Umar, that he said: 'It is the Sunnah,' meaning: 'Amin.'
• And I heard Ahmad - on another occasion - say: 'The Imam recites "Amin" aloud; he raises his voice with it, as do those behind him.'
• And I heard Ahmad - on another occasion - reciting "Amin" with a low, gentle audible tone, and sometimes I did not hear him reciting it aloud.
• And I heard Ishaq ibn Ibrahim - when a man from the people of Shash asked him about reciting "Amin" aloud - say: 'He recites it aloud until he makes the row behind him hear it.'
• And I heard Ishaq - also - say: 'When you finish the Opening of the Book (Al-Fatihah), say: "Amin"; extend your voice with it so that you make those who are behind you in the row hear it, and that is its minimum. And when the row hears it, those who are behind them recite it aloud to make those behind them hear it, until the people of the mosque say "Amin"; for the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: "When the Imam and those in the mosque say 'Amin,' and the 'Amin' of the people of heaven meets the 'Amin' of the people of earth, the one in the mosque is forgiven."'
He said: 'The Companions of the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) used to raise their voices with "Amin" until a rumbling sound was heard in the mosque.'
باب: الجَهر بـ: «آمين»
• سمعت أحمَد بن حَنبل يَقول: «يَجهَر الإمام ومَنْ خَلفَه بـ: «آمين».
٨٦٤ - حدثنا أحمَد، قال: ثنا روح بن عُبادَة، عن ابن جُرَيج، عن موسَى بن عقبة، عن نافع، عن ابن عُمَر، أنه قال: «هو السُّنَّة»، يعني: «آمين».
• وسمعت أحمَد -مرةً أخرى- يقول: «يَجهَر الإمام بـ: «آمين»؛ يَرفَع بها صَوتَه ومَنْ خَلفَه».
• وسمعت أحمَد -مرةً أخرى- يَجهَر بـ: «آمين» جَهرًا خَفيًّا رَفيقًا، ورُبَّما لم أسمَعه يَجهَر بها.
• وسمعت إسحاق بن إبراهيم -وسأله رَجلٌ من أهل شاش عن الجهر بـ: «آمين» -؛ قال: «يَجهَر حتى يُسمِع الصَّفَّ الذي يَليه».
• وسمعت إسحاق -أيضًا- يقول: «إذا فَرَغت من فاتحة الكِتاب؛ فقُل: «آمين»؛ تَمُدُّ بها صوتك لتُسمِع مَنْ يَليك من الصَّفّ، وذلك أدناه، وإذا سَمِعَ الصَّفُّ الذين يَلونَهم؛ جَهَروا بذلك ليُسمِعوا الصَّفَّ الذين يَلونَهم، حتى يُؤمِّن أهل المسجِد؛ فإن النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم قال: «إذا قال الإمام ومَنْ في المسجِد: «آمين»؛ فالتقت بـ «آمين» أهل السماء وأهل الأرض؛ غُفِرَ لِمَن في المسجِد».
قال: «وكان أصحاب النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم يَرفَعون أصواتهم بـ: «آمين»؛ حتى يُسمَع للمَسجِد رَجَّة».
