865 - Ishaq narrated to us, saying: Ali ibn al-Husayn ibn Shaqiq informed me, saying: Abu Hamzah al-Sukkari narrated to me, from Mutarrif, from Khalid ibn Abi Nawf, from 'Ata' ibn Abi Rabah, who said: 'I encountered two hundred of the Companions of the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him); when the Imam said: "nor of those who go astray" (walad-dallin), I would hear a rumbling sound from them with "Amin".'

Ishaq said: 'And similarly, 'Ikrimah said: "I encountered the people in this mosque, and they had a rumbling sound with 'Amin':

866 - Waki' informed us of that, from Fitr ibn Khalifah, from 'Ikrimah."

He said: 'And 'Ata' said: "Ibn al-Zubayr led us in prayer in the Sacred Mosque (Al-Masjid al-Haram), and when he said: "nor of those who go astray" (walad-dallin), I would hear a rumbling sound from the people of the mosque with 'Amin':

867 - Muhammad ibn Bakr informed us of that, from Ibn Jurayj, from 'Ata'."

868 - Muhammad ibn al-Wazir narrated to us, saying: Al-Walid ibn Muslim narrated to us, saying: I asked Abu 'Amr al-Awza'i about reciting "Amin" aloud? He said: "Yes, but it has been abandoned."
