Chapter: Regarding he who says behind the Imam: 'Allah hears those who praise Him.'
• I heard Ahmad say: 'If a man says when he raises his head from bowing: "O Allah, our Lord, to You be praise," he should not include the [conjunction] "and" (wa) in it.'
• I asked Ishaq ibn Ibrahim: 'Should a man say behind the Imam: "Our Lord, to You be praise, as a gratitude," when he raises his head from bowing?' He said: 'No.'
• Ishaq said: 'And one should say behind the Imam: "Allah hears those who praise Him."
• And I heard Ahmad ibn Nasr say: 'One should say behind the Imam: "Allah hears those who praise Him, O Allah, our Lord, to You be praise." Every person performs his own duty, and it is not permissible for him to do otherwise but to say it.'
945 - Muhammad ibn Yahya al-Quta'i narrated to us, saying: Mu'adh ibn Mu'adh narrated to us, saying: Ibn 'Awn informed us, from Muhammad, who said: 'If the Imam says: "Allah hears those who praise Him," then whoever is behind him should say: "Allah hears those who praise Him, our Lord, to You be praise."
باب: مَنْ يَقول خَلفَ الإمام: «سَمِعَ الله لِمَن حَمِدَه»
• سمعت أحمَد يقول: «إذا قال الرجل إذا رَفَع رأسَه من الركوع: «اللهم رَبَّنا لَك الحمد»؛ فإنه لا يَجعل فيه الواو».
• قلت لإسحاق بن إبراهيم: أيَقول الرجل خَلفَ الإمام: «رَبَّنا لَك الحمد شُكرًا»؛ إذا رَفَعَ رأسَه من الركوع؟ قال: «لا».
• قال إسحاق: «ويقول خَلفَ الإمام: «سَمِعَ الله لمن حَمِده»».
• وسمعت أحمَد بن نصر، قال: «يَقول خَلفَ الإمام: «سَمِعَ الله لمن حَمِده، اللهم رَبَّنا لَك الحمد»؛ كُلُّ إنسانٍ يُؤدِّي فَرضَه، ولا يَجوز إلا أن يَقولَه».
٩٤٥ - حدثنا محمد بن يَحيى القُطَعي، قال: ثنا مُعاذ بن مُعاذ، قال: أبنا ابن عون، عن محمد، قال: «إذا قال الإمام: «سَمِعَ الله لمن حَمِده»؛ فَليَقُل مَنْ خَلفَه: «سَمِعَ الله لمن حَمِدَه، رَبَّنا لَك الحمد».
