He said: "A group of scholars—among them Ibn al-Mubarak and his peers—chose to say during the prostration of the Quran in the obligatory prayers: 'I have wronged my soul, so forgive me my sin; for none forgives sins except You.' If he says this, it is permissible; however, what has come from the Prophet (peace be upon him) is more beloved to us."
Ishaq said: "Everything that falls under the name of supplication with which one supplicates is permissible. The best choice is what we described regarding the action of the Prophet (peace be upon him) in that regard."
983 - Sa'id ibn Mansur narrated to us, he said: Hushaym narrated to us, he said: Khalid al-Hadhdha' informed us, from Abu al-'Aliyah, from Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her), who said: The Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) used to say during the prostration of the Quran: 'My face has prostrated to the One Who created it, and split its hearing and its sight, by His power and strength.'"
