• Ishaq ibn Ibrahim was asked about the two qullat? He said: "Four waterskins to five waterskins."

• He said: "I prefer that it be two large jars. As for Ibn Mahdi, he considers that if the water were a mere handful and a mouse fell into it and died, one should throw the mouse away and perform ablution with the water; due to the statement of the Prophet, may Allah bless him and grant him peace: 'Nothing renders water impure.'"

• And I heard Ishaq say—another time—: "As for that which we rely upon: it is that when the water reaches the amount of two qullat—which is about six waterskins; for the qulla is like the large jar, and it is approximately forty small buckets—at that point, it does not hold impurity, and the filth that mixes with it does not spoil it, unless that changes its taste or its odor."

106 - He said: And al-Nadr said: "The two qullat: are the two large jars."

107 - Muhammad ibn Nasr ibn Sa'id narrated to us, saying: Hassan ibn Ibrahim narrated to us, from Salm ibn Nistas, from Sulayman ibn 'Amr, from Burd, from Rashid ibn Sa'd, from Abu Umamah—may Allah be pleased with him—,
