Chapter: He Who Forgets His Prayer, Then Remembers It
• I heard Ahmad say, regarding a man who forgets a prayer: "He performs it when he remembers it. If he remembers it but does not perform it, then performs other prayers, he must repeat those [subsequent] prayers. If he does not remember it, he does not repeat them. If he was an Imam, the congregation must also repeat [the prayers]." It was said: "What if he prayed with them without wudu (ablution)?" He said: "He repeats it, but they do not repeat it." Ahmad said: "And whoever leads a people in prayer without wudu intentionally, he shall be disciplined."
• And I heard Ahmad say on another occasion: "If a prayer passes him by and he remembers it while fearing that the time for the current prayer will pass, he should begin with the current one, then repeat the other."
1028 - Abbas ibn Abd al-Azim narrated to us, saying: Ishaq ibn Mansur narrated to us, saying: Mansur ibn Abi al-Aswad narrated to us, from Mughirah, from Ibrahim, who said: "If one leaves a prayer intentionally, he must repeat it, and repeat every prayer he performed after it."
1029 - Sa'id ibn Mansur narrated to us, saying: Abu Mu'awiyah narrated to us, from al-A'mash, from Ibrahim, that Umar ibn al-Khattab, may Allah be pleased with him, led the people in prayer while he was in a state of janaba (major ritual impurity), so he repeated it, but they did not repeat it.
1030 - Sa'id ibn Mansur narrated to us, saying: Abdullah ibn al-Mubarak narrated to us, from Ma'mar, from Abd al-Karim al-Jazari, from Sa'id ibn al-Musayyib, regarding a man who misses a prayer then remembers it while fearing the current one will be lost; he said: "He performs this one, then performs the first one, and does not neglect two times."
باب: مَنْ نَسِيَ صَلاتَه، ثُم ذَكَرَها
• سمعت أحمَد يقول -في رَجلٍ نَسي صَلاةً-؛ قال: «يُصَلِّيها إذا ذَكَرَها، وإن ذَكَرَها فلم يُصَلِّها، ثم صَلَّى صَلَواتٍ؛ فإنه يُعيدُ تِلك الصَّلَوات، وإن لم يَذكُرها فإنه لا يُعيدُها، فإن كان إمامًا؛ أعاد القوم -أيضًا-». قيل: فإن صَلَّى بِهم بِغَير وضوء؟ قال: «يُعيد، ولا يُعيدون». قال أحمد: «ومَنْ صَلَّى بِقَومٍ بِغَير وضوء مُتَعَمِّدًا؛ أُدِّب».
• وسمعت أحمَد -مرةً أخرى- يقول: «إذا فاتَته صَلاة فذَكَرَها وهو يَخاف أن يَفوته وَقت هذه التي قَد حَضَرَت؛ فإنه يَبدأ بِهذه، ثم يُعيدُ تِلك».
١٠٢٨ - حدثنا عَبَّاس بن عبد العَظيم، قال: ثنا إسحاق بن مَنصور، قال: ثنا مَنصور بن أبي الأسود، عن مُغيرَة، عن إبراهيم، قال: «إذا تَرَكَ صَلاةً مُتَعَمِّدًا أعادَها، وأعاد كُلَّ صَلاةٍ صَلَّاها بَعدَها».
١٠٢٩ - حدثنا سَعيد بن مَنصور، قال: ثنا أبو مُعاويَة، عن الأعمَش، عن إبراهيم، أن عُمَر بن الخطاب -رضي الله عنه- صَلَّى بِالناس وهو جُنُب، فأعاد ولم يُعيدوا.
١٠٣٠ - حدثنا سَعيد بن مَنصور، قال: ثنا عبد الله بن المبارَك، عن مَعمَر، عن عبد الكريم الجزري، عن سَعيد بن المسيَّب -في رَجلٍ فاتَته صَلاةٌ، ثم ذَكَرَ وهو يَخاف فَوتَ هذه-؛ قال: «يُصَلِّي هذه، ثم يُصَلِّي الأولى، ولا يُضَيِّع مَرَّتَين».
