Chapter: When One's Parents Call One While in Prayer

• Ahmad was asked regarding the hadith that states: "If your father calls you while you are in prayer, answer him." I saw him declaring the hadith weak (da'if).

1043 - Abu Ma'n al-Raqashi narrated to us, saying: Yazid ibn Harun narrated to us, saying: Muhammad ibn 'Abd al-Rahman ibn Abi Dhi'b informed us, from Muhammad ibn al-Munkadir, who said: The Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) said: "If your father calls you while you are praying, answer your mother, and do not answer your father."

1044 - 'Abd al-Wahhab ibn al-Dahhak narrated to us, saying: Isma'il ibn 'Ayyash narrated to us, from 'Abd al-Rahman ibn 'Amr, from Yahya ibn Abi 'Amr al-Shaybani, from Makhul, that he used to say: "If your mother calls you while you are praying, [answer her, and] if your father calls you, do not answer him until you have finished the prayer."

1045 - Muhammad ibn Wazir al-Dimashqi narrated to us, saying: al-Walid ibn Muslim narrated to us, saying: Abu 'Amr informed me, from Yahya ibn Abi 'Amr, from Makhul, who said: "If your mother calls you while you are in prayer, answer her."
