1070 - Muhammad ibn al-Wazir narrated to us, he said: Marwan ibn Muhammad narrated to us, he said: Ibn 'Ayyash narrated to us, he said: Ibn Jurayj narrated to me, from his father, from 'Aishah (may Allah be pleased with her), who said: The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: "If one of you has a nosebleed, vomits, or regurgitates food (qalas), let him depart [the prayer], and let him return to [complete] his prayer, provided he has not spoken."
• I also heard Ishaq say: "If a man breaks his wudhu after having prayed a rak'ah or two due to a nosebleed or vomiting, let him turn away [from the prayer] without speaking, then let him complete the remainder of his prayer. If he speaks, he must repeat the prayer. Likewise, if he breaks his wudhu due to urination, passing wind, or vomiting, even if he breaks his wudhu due to urination, passing wind, or vomiting after having prayed a rak'ah or two, he must repeat the wudhu and then continue his prayer (yabni 'ala salatihi). All of that is the same; because in our view, each of these is a hadath (invalidating state), even if some of the scholars of the [various] garrison towns (amsar) do not adopt this [view]."
Chapter: He Who Raises His Head Before the Imam
• I asked Ahmad ibn Hanbal, I said: "[What about] a man who raises his head before the Imam?" He said: "He must return to his prostration until the Imam raises [his head]."
1071 - Zakariyya ibn Yahya al-Bahili narrated to us, he said: Yazid ibn Harun narrated to us, he said: Muhammad ibn Ishaq narrated to us, from Ya'qub ibn 'Abdullah ibn al-Ashajj, from Busr ibn Sa'id, from al-Harith ibn Makhlad, he said: My father, Makhlad, narrated to me, he said: I heard 'Umar ibn al-Khattab (may Allah be pleased with him) say: "If one of you raises his head from his bowing (rak'ah) or prostration (sajdah) before the Imam, let him return, then let him remain until he sees that he has caught up with what he missed."
