Masa'il Harb al-Kirmani: Book of Purification (Taharah) and Prayer (Salah) - Edited by al-Surayyi'
Volume 1 · Page 451

Translation · EN

Al-Walid said: I asked Abu 'Amr about someone who forgot his first Tashahhud in the Dhuhr, 'Asr, Maghrib, or 'Isha' prayers, then stood up from it and did not sit, and then forgot the final one and concluded with the taslim. Should he recite the Tashahhud? He said: "He should recite his first Tashahhud, then perform the two prostrations of forgetfulness, then recite his final Tashahhud, then conclude with the taslim." It was said to Abu 'Amr: "What if he forgot both his first and final Tashahhud until he stood up and departed?" He said: "He should sit down and perform four prostrations [of forgetfulness]."

1084 - Al-Walid said: Al-Mufaddal ibn Fadala al-Misri informed me, from 'Uqayl, from Ibn Shihab al-Zuhri, who said: "He should recite the Tashahhud when he remembers, due to the word of Allah, Blessed and Exalted is He: {And remember your Lord when you forget}."

1085 - Al-Walid said: Al-Haytham informed me, from al-Nu'man, from Makhul, who said: "There is no prayer except with a Tashahhud in the place of the Tashahhud. So whoever forgets, let him recite the Tashahhud when he remembers, for the Tashahhud is indispensable."

1086 - Al-Walid said: Abu 'Amr said: "Whoever forgets to recite the Tashahhud with the Imam until he has departed, his prayer is valid."

1087 - Musaddad narrated to us, he said: Yahya ibn Sa'id narrated to us, from Shu'bah, from Muslim ibn 'Abd Allah, from Hamala ibn 'Abd al-Rahman, who said: 'Umar said: "There is no prayer except with a Tashahhud."
