• And I heard Ishaq say: "Whoever says, 'I am a believer,' is a Murji'." I said: "Should one pray behind him?" He said: "No."
• And Ishaq ibn Ibrahim was asked about a man who says: "I am truly a believer"; should one pray behind him? He said: "If he is a propagandist (da'iyah), one should not pray behind him."
1126 - Ibrahim ibn 'Abd Allah al-Ansari narrated to us, from Abu 'Ubayd, who said: "As for prayer behind a Qadari, a Khariji, or a Murji', I do not like it, nor do I consider it appropriate; however, if a man does pray, I do not invalidate his prayer, and I do not command him to repeat it."
1127 - Ahmad ibn Hanbal narrated to us, he said: Mu'tamir ibn Sulayman narrated to us, from Layth, from Nu'aym ibn Abi Hind, who said: 'Umar ibn al-Khattab—may God honor his face—said: "Whoever says, 'He is a believer,' is a disbeliever; whoever says, 'He is a scholar,' is an ignorant person; and whoever says, 'He is in Paradise,' is in the Fire."
Chapter: Prayer Behind Someone Who Prioritizes 'Ali Over Abu Bakr and 'Umar—May God be Pleased with Them Both
• It was said to Ahmad ibn Hanbal: "[What about] prayer behind a man who prioritizes 'Ali over Abu Bakr and 'Umar?" He said: "One should not pray behind such a person."
1128 - Ahmad ibn Yunus narrated to us, he said: I heard Za'idah say: "If he were a Rafidi, I would not pray behind him."
