1136 - Yahya narrated to us, he said: Hafs narrated to us, from Layth, from Habib, from Sa'id ibn Jubayr, that he saw no harm in wearing fox skins, but he disliked praying in them.
Chapter: Prayer behind someone who drinks intoxicants
• Ahmad ibn Hanbal was asked: What about praying behind someone who drinks intoxicants? He said: "If he interprets [the evidence] to permit it, then there is no harm."
• I heard Ahmad—another time—being asked about praying behind someone who drinks intoxicants? He said: "No." It was said: How about behind someone who sits with them? He said: "He is close to them." And he said in the first [instance]: "If he is the one passing the cup, then one should not pray behind him."
• Ahmad was asked again, it was said: A man was seen drunk while he is an Imam; should one pray behind him? He said: "One should not pray behind this person until he repents."
1137 - Ahmad ibn Hanbal narrated to us, he said: Muhammad ibn Ja'far narrated to us, he said: Shu'bah narrated to us, from al-Nu'man ibn Salim, from Abu Nafi', from his father, from 'Abdullah ibn 'Umar, that he said: "Whoever drinks wine and becomes intoxicated from it, no prayer of his shall be accepted for forty nights."
١١٣٦ - حدثنا يَحيى، قال: ثنا حَفص، عن ليث، عن حبيب، عن سَعيد بن جُبَير، أنه كان لا يَرَى بِلُبس جُلود الثعالِب بأسًا، ويَكرَه الصَّلاة فيها.
باب: الصَّلاة خَلفَ مَنْ يَشرَبُ المُسكِر
• قيل لأحمَد بن حَنبل: فالصَّلاة خَلفَ مَنْ يَشرَب المسكِر؟ قال: «إذا كان يَتأوَّل؛ فلا بأس».
• وسمعت أحمَد -مرةً أخرى- يُسأل عن الصَّلاة خَلفَ مَنْ يَشرَب المسكِر؟ قال: «لا». قيل: فخَلفَ مَنْ يُجالِسُهم؟ قال: «هو قَريبٌ مِنهم». وقال في الأوَّل: «إذا كان يُدير الكأس؛ فإنه لا يُصَلَّى خَلفَه».
• وسُئل أحمَد -مرةً أخرى-، قيل: رَجلٌ رَأوه سَكران، وهو إمام؛ أيُصَلَّى خَلفَه؟ قال: «لا يُصَلَّى خَلفَ هذا حتى يَتوب».
١١٣٧ - حدثنا أحمَد بن حَنبل، قال: ثنا محمد بن جَعفَر، قال: ثنا شُعبَة، عن النُّعمان بن سالم، عن أبي نافع، عن أبيه، عن عبد الله بن عُمَر، أنه قال: «مَنْ شَرِبَ الخمر فسَكِرَ مِنها؛ لم تُقبَل لَه صَلاةٌ أربَعين لَيلَة».
