Chapter: Prayer in Camel Pens and Sheep Resting Places
• Ahmad was asked about prayer in camel pens, and he disliked it. As for sheep pens (daman), he permitted it.
1169 - Ahmad ibn Hanbal narrated to us, saying: Isma'il ibn Ibrahim narrated to us, saying: Yunus informed us, from al-Hasan, from Abd Allah ibn Mughaffal (may Allah be pleased with him), who said: "We were commanded to pray in sheep resting places and not to pray in camel pens, for they were created from devils."
1170 - Ishaq narrated to us, saying: Muhammad ibn Abi Adi narrated to us, from Ash'ath, from al-Hasan, who said: "Whoever prays in camel pens must repeat the prayer."
Chapter: Prayer at the Bottom of a Canal/Ditch
• I said to Ishaq: "A channel-maker is at the bottom of a canal, and the time for prayer arrives, and he has—at the bottom—a wide space where he is able to pray?" He said: "He may pray at the bottom of the canal," and he permitted it.
Chapter: Prayer in a Usurped Mosque
• I asked Abu Abd Allah, saying: "A man usurped land from another man, and he built a mosque on it?" He said: "One should not pray in this mosque."
1171 - Yahya ibn Uthman and Ahmad ibn al-Azhar narrated to us, saying: Muhammad ibn Yusuf narrated to us, saying: A man from the people of Khurasan—from the people of Marw—came to Sufyan and said: "The mosque of Marw was taken by force, and the area around it was demolished and incorporated into the mosque." He asked him about praying in it, and said: "We have no Jumu'ah except in it?" He replied: "Perform the Jumu'ah prayer, but do not perform supererogatory (tatawwu') prayers in it."
باب: الصَّلاة في أعطَان الإبِل ومَرَابِض الغَنَم
• سُئل أحمَد عن الصَّلاة في أعطان الإبِل؟ فكَرِهَه، وفي دمن الغَنَم؟ فرَخَّصَ فيه.
١١٦٩ - حدثنا أحمَد بن حَنبل، قال: ثنا إسماعيل بن إبراهيم، قال: أبنا يونُس، عن الحسَن، عن عبد الله بن مغفل -رضي الله عنه-، قال: «كُنَّا نؤمَر أن نُصَلِّي في مَرابِض الغَنَم، ولا نُصَلِّي في أعطان الإبِل؛ فإنها خُلِقَت من الشَّياطين».
١١٧٠ - حدثنا إسحاق، قال: ثنا محمد بن أبي عدي، عن أشعَث، عن الحسَن، قال: «مَنْ صَلَّى في أعطان الإبِل أعاد الصَّلاة».
باب: الصَّلاة في أسفَلِ القَنَاة
• قلت لإسحاق: القَنَّاء يكون في أسفَل القَناة، فتَحضُر الصَّلاة، ولَه -أسفَلَ- مَوضِعٌ واسِعٌ يَقدِر أن يُصَلِّي فيه؟ قال: «يُصَلِّي أسفَلَ القَناة»، ورَخَّص فيه.
باب: الصَّلاة في مَسجِدِ غَصْب
• سألت أبا عبد الله، قلت: رَجلٌ غَصَبَ رَجلًا أرضًا، فبَنى مِنه مَسجِدًا؟ قال: «لا يُصَلَّى في هذا المسجِد».
١١٧١ - حدثنا يَحيى بن عُثمان وأحمَد بن الأزهَر، قالا: ثنا محمد بن يوسُف، قال: جاء رَجلٌ من أهل خُراسان؛ من أهل مَرو إلى سُفيان، فقال: إن مَسجِد مرَو أُخِذَ غَصبًا، وهُدِمَ حَوله، وأُدخِل في المسجِد، فسَألَه عن الصَّلاة فيه، وقال: ليسَ لَنا جُمعَةٌ ⦗٥٤٢⦘ إلا فيه؟ فقال: «صَلِّ الجُمعَة، ولا تَطَوَّع فيه».
