Chapter: A Sheep That Eats Filth, Then Puts Its Mouth into Water
• I said to Ishaq ibn Ibrahim: A sheep ate filth, then put its mouth into water. Do I perform ablution with it? He said: "Did the sheep eat anything after that?" I said: No. He said: "If it did not eat anything after the filth, then do not perform ablution with it."
120 - Mahmud narrated to us, he said: Al-Walid narrated to us, he said: Ibn Thawban informed me, from his father, from Makhul—and he was asked about performing ablution with the su'r (leftover water) of a horse, a packhorse, a mule, a camel, a bull, and a sheep—so he said: "There is no harm in it."
121 - Al-Walid said: And Ibn Hawshab informed me that he heard Makhul say: "Perform ablution with the leftovers of all livestock."
Chapter: The Leftover Water of a Chicken
• I said to Ishaq: A chicken ate filth, and its trace remained on its beak, then it put its beak into a bucket containing water. Do I perform ablution with it? He said: "If there is something on its beak, then do not."
122 - 'Amr ibn 'Uthman narrated to us, he said: Al-Walid ibn Muslim narrated to us, he said: Abu 'Amr al-Awza'i said: "One may perform ablution with the leftover water of a chicken if he wishes, but one does not perform ablution with the leftover water of a monkey; for it is the most impure of leftovers."
Chapter: The Monkey and the Swine
• I asked Ishaq about the leftover water of a monkey; may one perform ablution with it? He said: "No," then he said: "The leftover water of a swine is not permissible, and the monkey is like it or worse than it."
باب: الشَّاة تَأكُل العَذِرَة، ثم أَدخَلَت فَمَها في الماء
• قلت لإسحاق بن إبراهيم: شَاةٌ أَكَلَت عَذِرَة، ثم أَدخَلَت فَمَها في ماء، هل أتوضَّأ بِه؟ قال: «أَكَلَت الشَّاةُ بَعدَ ذلك شَيئًا؟» قلت: لا. قال: «إذا لم تَكُن أَكَلَت بَعد العَذِرَة شيئًا؛ فلا تتوضَّأ بِه».
١٢٠ - حدثنا مَحمود، قال: ثنا الوَليد، قال: وأخبرني ابن ثَوبان، عن أبيه، عن مَكحُول -وسَأَلَه عن الوضوء بِسُؤر الفَرَس والبرذَون والبَغل والبَعير والثَّور والشَّاة؟ -؛ فقال: «لا بأسَ بِه».
١٢١ - قال الوَليد: وأخبرني ابن حَوشَب، أنه سمع مَكحُولًا يقول: «توضَّأ بِفَضل البَهَائم كُلِّها».
باب: سُؤر الدَّجَاجَة
• قلت لإسحاق: دَجاجَةٌ أَكَلَت عَذِرَة، فصَار أَثرُها على مِنقَارِها، ثم أَدخَلَت مِنقَارَها في سَطلٍ فيه ماء، هل أتوضَّأ به؟ قال: «إن كان في مِنقَارها شَيء؛ فلا».
١٢٢ - وحدثنا عَمرو بن عُثمان، قال: ثنا الوَليد بن مُسلِم، قال: قال أبو عَمرو الأوزاعي: «يَتوضَّأ من سُؤر الدَّجاج إن شاء، ولا يَتوضَّأ بِسُؤر القِرد؛ فإنه أَخبَث السُّؤر».
باب: القِرد والخِنزير
• سألت إسحاق عن سُؤر القِرد؛ أيتوضَّأ بِه؟ قال: «لا»، ثم قال: «سُؤر الخِنزير لا يَحِل، والقِرد مِثلُه أو شَرٌّ مِنه».
