1189 - Yahya al-Himmani narrated to us, saying: My father narrated to us, from Muhill, from Ibrahim, who said: "He should wait for them as long as he does not perceive that it would be burdensome for the people. If he sees that it has become burdensome for the people, he should raise his head, for those who are behind him have a greater right upon him."
Chapter: Abandoning the Congregation
• Ishaq was asked about the statement: "There is no prayer for the neighbor of the mosque except in the mosque"? He said: "The correct meaning is that he has no merit, and I do not feel secure regarding the reward for him," meaning: that there is no valid prayer for him.
1190 - Muhammad ibn Adam narrated to us, saying: Jabir ibn Nuh narrated to us, saying: Abu Hayyan al-Taymi narrated to us, from his father, who said: 'Ali (may Allah be pleased with him) said: "There is no prayer for the neighbor of the mosque except in the mosque." We said: "O Commander of the Believers, and who is the neighbor of the mosque?" He said: "Whoever hears the call [to prayer]."
1191 - Yahya ibn 'Abd al-Hamid narrated to us, saying: Qays narrated to us, from Abu Husayn, from Abu Burdah, from Abu Musa (may Allah be pleased with him), from the Prophet (peace be upon him), who said: "Whoever hears the call and does not answer it without illness or excuse, then there is no prayer for him."
١١٨٩ - حدثنا يَحيى الحِمَّاني، قال: ثنا أبي، عن مُحِلّ، عن إبراهيم، قال: «يَنتَظِرهم بِقَدر ما لا يَرى أنه يَشُقُّ على القَوم، فإذا رأى أنه قَد شَقَّ على القَوم؛ رَفَعَ رأسَه؛ فإن مَنْ خَلفَه أعظَم عَلَيه حَقًّا».
باب: تَرْك الجَمَاعَة
• سُئل إسحاق عن قَوله: «لا صَلاةَ لِجار المسجِد إلا في المسجِد»؟ قال: «الصحيح: أنه لا فَضلَ لَه، والأجرُ لا آمَنُ عَلَيه»، يَعني: أنه لا صَلاةَ لَه.
١١٩٠ - حدثنا محمد بن آدم، قال: ثنا جابِر بن نوح، قال: ثنا أبو حيان التيمي، عن أبيه، قال: قال علي -رضي الله عنه-: «لا صَلاة لِجار المسجِد إلا في المسجِد». قال: قُلنا: يا أمير المؤمنين، ومَنْ جار المسجِد؟ قال: «مَنْ سَمِعَ النِّداء».
١١٩١ - حدثنا يَحيى بن عبد الحَميد، قال: ثنا قيس، عن أبي حصين، عن أبي بردة، عن أبي موسَى -رضي الله عنه-، عن النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم، قال: «مَنْ سَمِعَ النِّداء فلَم يُجِب مِن غَير مَرَضٍ ولا عُذر؛ فلا صَلاةَ لَه».
