Masa'il Harb al-Kirmani: Book of Purification (Taharah) and Prayer (Salah) - Edited by al-Surayyi'
Volume 1 · Page 495Chapter: Abandoning the Congregational Prayer

Translation · EN

1189 - Yahya al-Himmani narrated to us, saying: My father narrated to us, from Muhill, from Ibrahim, who said: "He should wait for them as long as he does not perceive that it would be burdensome for the people. If he sees that it has become burdensome for the people, he should raise his head, for those who are behind him have a greater right upon him."

Chapter: Abandoning the Congregation

• Ishaq was asked about the statement: "There is no prayer for the neighbor of the mosque except in the mosque"? He said: "The correct meaning is that he has no merit, and I do not feel secure regarding the reward for him," meaning: that there is no valid prayer for him.

1190 - Muhammad ibn Adam narrated to us, saying: Jabir ibn Nuh narrated to us, saying: Abu Hayyan al-Taymi narrated to us, from his father, who said: 'Ali (may Allah be pleased with him) said: "There is no prayer for the neighbor of the mosque except in the mosque." We said: "O Commander of the Believers, and who is the neighbor of the mosque?" He said: "Whoever hears the call [to prayer]."

1191 - Yahya ibn 'Abd al-Hamid narrated to us, saying: Qays narrated to us, from Abu Husayn, from Abu Burdah, from Abu Musa (may Allah be pleased with him), from the Prophet (peace be upon him), who said: "Whoever hears the call and does not answer it without illness or excuse, then there is no prayer for him."
