1192 - Ahmad ibn Yunus narrated to us, saying: Sharik narrated to us, saying: Abu Hamzah said: I asked Ibrahim about the excuse; what is it? He said: "Fear and illness."
1193 - Muhammad ibn Yahya al-Qut'i narrated to us, saying: Mulazim ibn 'Amr al-Yamami narrated to us, saying: Muhammad ibn Jabir narrated to us, saying: "There is no prayer for the neighbor of the mosque except in it." We said: "And who is the neighbor of the mosque?" He said: "The one who hears the call [to prayer]."
1194 - Mulazim said: I asked al-Ahnaf ibn al-Zubayr al-Sadusi about this—and he was among the jurists—and I informed him of this, so he said: "We asked the jurists of Makkah, and they said: 'His neighbor is forty houses to the east, and forty houses to the west.'"
Chapter: There is no Prayer for the One Who Does Not Recite the Opening of the Book (al-Fatihah)
• Ishaq was asked about the statement: "There is no prayer for the one who does not recite the Opening of the Book"? He said: "He has no prayer." It was said: "What about the one who says he has no merit [for the prayer]?" He disapproved of that and said: "He has no prayer."
1195 - 'Abd Allah ibn al-Zubayr narrated to us, saying: Sufyan narrated to us, saying: al-Zuhri narrated to us, saying: Mahmud ibn al-Rabi' informed me that he heard 'Ubadah ibn al-Samit (may Allah be pleased with him) saying: The Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) said: "There is no prayer for the one who does not recite the Opening of the Book in it."

١١٩٢ - حدثنا أحمَد بن يونُس، قال: ثنا شَريك، قال: قال أبو حمزة: سألت إبراهيم عن العُذر؛ ما هو؟ قال: «الخَوف والمرَض».
١١٩٣ - حدثنا محمد بن يَحيى القُطَعي، قال: ثنا ملازم بن عَمرو اليمامي، قال: ثنا محمد بن جابِر، قال: «لا صَلاة لِجار المسجِد إلا فيه». قلنا: وما جار المسجِد؟ قال: «الذي يَسمَع النِّداء»،
١١٩٤ - قال ملازم: فسَأَلت عن هذا الأحنفَ بن الزُّبَير السدوسي -وكان من الفقهاء-، وأخبَرته بِهذا، فقال: سَأَلنا فُقَهاء مَكَّة، فقالوا: «جارُه: أربَعين دارًا شَرقيَّة، وأربَعين (١) درا (٢) غَربيَّة».
باب: لا صَلاةَ لِمَن لَم يَقرَأ بِفاتِحَة الكِتاب
• سُئل إسحاق عن قَولِه: «لا صَلاةَ لِمَن لَم يَقرَأ بِفاتحة الكِتاب»؟ قال: «لا صَلاةَ لَه». قيل: فَمَنْ قال: لا فَضيلَةَ لَه؟ فأنكَرَه، وقال: «لا صَلاةَ لَه».
١١٩٥ - حدثنا عبد الله بن الزُّبَير، قال: ثنا سُفيان، قال: ثنا الزُّهري، قال: أخبرني مَحمود بن الربيع، أنه سمع عُبادَة بن الصامت -رضي الله عنه- يقول: قال رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم: «لا صَلاةَ لِمَن لَم يَقرَأ فيها بِفاتحة الكِتاب».
