1210 - Sa'id ibn Mansur narrated to us, he said: Habban ibn 'Ali narrated to us, from Mujalid, from al-Sha'bi, who said: 'He came to us from Khurasan wearing a sable qaba' (outer garment) and a sable qalansuwa, and he used to pray in them. He also used to wear fox skins and pray in them.'

• I asked Ishaq, and I said: 'A man who prayed on a leopard skin or a lion skin?' He said: 'He must repeat the prayer.' I said: 'He must repeat the prayer?' He said: 'Yes.'

• And I asked Ishaq another time, and I said: 'A man who prayed on a lion skin?' He said: 'I dislike it.' I said: 'Does he repeat the prayer?' He said: 'He does not repeat the prayer.'

1211 - Sa'id ibn Ya'qub narrated to us, he said: 'Abdullah ibn al-Mubarak narrated to us, from Hajjaj, from Abu al-Zubayr, from Jabir (may Allah be pleased with him), who said: 'There is no harm in the skins of beasts of prey if they have been tanned.'

1212 - Muhammad ibn al-Wazir narrated to us, he said: al-Walid narrated to us, he said: It was said to Abu 'Amr: 'What about praying on the skins of beasts of prey?' So he disliked that due to what is mentioned in the hadith regarding it.

Chapter: Praying on Silk (Dibaj)

• I said to Ishaq: 'A man who prayed on a prayer mat made of silk?' He said: 'His prayer is valid, but I prefer that one does not pray on silk, especially if it contains images.'
