1216 - Ishaq narrated to us, he said: 'Abdah ibn Sulayman informed us, he said: 'Ubaydullah ibn 'Umar narrated to us, from Sa'id ibn Abi Sa'id al-Maqburi, from Abu Salamah, from 'Aishah (may Allah be pleased with her), from the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him): He used to spread it out during the day, partition it off at night, and pray on it.
1217 - Huraym ibn al-Muhallab narrated to us, he said: Suwayd ibn Ibrahim narrated to us, from Qatadah, from Anas (may Allah be pleased with him), that he prayed on a shadharwan (a raised platform or pedestal).
1218 - Ishaq narrated to us, he said: 'Isa ibn Yunus narrated to us, he said: al-A'mash narrated to us, from Abu Sufyan, from Jabir, he said: Abu Sa'id al-Khudri narrated to us, that he entered upon the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) and found him on a mat, prostrating on it.
Chapter: One Who Prays While Wearing a Silk Drawstring (takkah)
• I said to Ahmad: A man prays while there is a silk drawstring in his trousers? He said: "It does not please me. If it were a patch (alam) on a garment, it would be lighter." I said: Does he repeat the prayer? He said: "I do not know."
(1) Thus it appears in the original; perhaps the correct word is "that" (anna). (2) Perhaps something was omitted here: "he had a mat" (lahu hasir). (3) Thus it appears in the original, while in the [biographical] sources it is "Abu al-Muhallab".
