• Abu Ya'qub said: "The report from the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, has been authenticated, stating: 'There is no Muslim who is afflicted with an ailment in his body, but that Allah says to His angels: Write for My servant the best of what he used to do while he was in good health and while he was stationary.' It has also been mentioned from the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, that he said: 'If a servant becomes ill or travels, there is written for him of reward the equivalent of what he used to do in his health.' Therefore, the obligatory prayers which he cannot perform except by sitting or gesturing, he is more deserving of receiving for them the reward of a healthy person who stands."

1253 - Ishaq narrated to us, he said: Waki' informed us, from Sufyan al-Thawri, from 'Alqamah ibn Marthad, from al-Qasim ibn Mukhaymirah, from 'Abdullah ibn 'Amr, from the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, who said: "There is no Muslim who is afflicted with an ailment in his body, but that Allah says to His angels who guard him: 'Write for this servant of Mine the best of what he used to do, for he is confined in My bond as long as he remains in that state.'"

1254 - Ishaq narrated to us, he said: Hafs ibn Ghiyath and Muhammad ibn 'Ubayd informed us, from al-'Awwam ibn Hawshab, from Abu Burdah, from his father, from the Prophet, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, who said: "If a servant performs a deed while in health, then he becomes ill or travels, Allah writes for him the reward of what he used to do before that."
