As for the planets and stars by which the people of these regions seek the direction of the Qibla, and by which they know their Qibla, and upon which they ought to rely when they perform their prayers, and according to which their mosques should be built when they are constructed, and which they should follow:

They are a group of luminous stars in front of Scorpio; eight in the shape of a horse, which set in the direction of the Qibla, behind the Kaaba.

There is a well-known luminous star called 'the Heart' (Qalb); it sets in the direction of the Qibla, directly between your eyes when you face the side of the Kaaba, and likewise the 'Stinger' (Shawla) sets in the direction of the Qibla.

There are eight stars called 'the Ostriches' (Na'a'im); they set in the direction of the Qibla, behind the Kaaba.

There are two small white stars, with a distance of about a cubit between them to the naked eye, to the left of 'the Luck of Lucks' (Sa'd al-Su'ud); they set in the direction of the Qibla.

There are scattered stars in clusters, three by three and four by four, to the left of 'the Luck of the Tents' (Sa'd al-Akhbiya); they set in the direction of the Qibla.
