143 - Muhammad ibn Nasr narrated to us, he said: Hassan narrated to us, from Yunus ibn Yazid, from al-Zuhri, that he saw no harm in performing ablution with the leftover water of a donkey and a dog if one finds nothing else and is compelled to use it.
Chapter: Ablution with the leftover water of a woman
Ahmad was asked about a man performing ablution with the leftover water from a woman's ablution. He said: "If she was alone with the water, a man should not perform ablution with her leftover; but if they both scooped from it, there is no harm."
I heard Ishaq ibn Ibrahim saying: "As for the leftover water of a menstruating woman, it has been permitted; however, the leftover of her ablution is forbidden. We hope that the remainder of her leftover water, if one performs ablution with it, is permissible. The Prophet (may Allah bless him and grant him peace) forbade the leftover of her ablution, and we dislike that out of devotion and submission."
I heard Ishaq ibn Ibrahim saying: "There is no harm in performing ablution with the leftover water of a menstruating woman or a person in a state of major ritual impurity (junub), and there is no harm in performing ablution with the leftover water of a polytheist."
Chapter: A man waking from sleep and dipping his hand into a vessel
