Masa'il Harb al-Kirmani: Book of Purification (Taharah) and Prayer (Salah) - Edited by al-Surayyi'
Volume 1 · Page 71Chapter: One who forgets to wipe the head

Translation · EN

184 - Muhammad ibn Mu'awiyah narrated to us, he said: Sharik narrated to us, from [Abd al-Karim], from Sa'id ibn al-Musayyib, who said: "A woman has the same obligation regarding wiping as a man."

Chapter: He Who Forgets to Wipe the Head

• I asked Ahmad, I said: A man performed wudu', and forgot to wipe his head? He said: "If the wudu' has dried, he must repeat the wudu'."

• And I heard Ahmad—another time—saying: "Whoever forgets to wipe his head until his wudu' has dried, he must repeat the wudu'." It was said: If he is in prayer, and there is moisture in his beard, should he wipe? He said: "No."

• And I heard Ahmad—another time—asked about a man who forgot to wipe his head? He said: "If it is recent, he wipes his head, and repeats the washing of his feet"—he is referring to the Book [the Qur'an]—"and if his wudu' has dried, he repeats the wudu'."

• It was said to Ahmad: What about a man who forgot to wipe over his socks? He said: "If it is recent, he wipes, and if his wudu' has dried, he repeats it."

• And I asked Ishaq ibn Ibrahim, I said: A man performed wudu', and forgot to wipe his head, then rain fell upon him? He said: "It does not suffice him, unless rain falls upon him and he wipes it with his hands, and intends [the act of wiping] for that."

Notes

(1) The copyist became confused in writing it, so he wrote: "Abd al-A'larim," and perhaps this was an error of shifting eyes from the previous chain of narration, and the correct reading is as I have established.

Notes
