Masa'il Harb al-Kirmani: Book of Purification (Taharah) and Prayer (Salah) - Edited by al-Surayyi'
Volume 1 · Page 7

Translation · EN

12 - Abbas ibn Abd al-Azim narrated to us, saying: I heard Abd al-Rahman ibn Mahdi say: "If a man were to pray while there is the amount of a louse of excrement or urine on his garment, he must repeat the prayer."

13 - Sa'id ibn Mansur narrated to us, saying: Abu 'Awanah and Hushaym narrated to us, from Mughirah, from Ibrahim, who said: "They used to be strict regarding urine"—Hushaym said: "and human excrement"—"when it is on the garment, and they viewed it as being more severe than semen and blood."

14 - Amr ibn Uthman narrated to us, saying: Al-Walid ibn Muslim narrated to us, saying: I said to Abu 'Amr al-Awza'i: Urine touched my garment, and I forgot to wash it until I had prayed? He said: "Repeat the prayer within the time, but if the time has passed, there is no repetition."

15 - Abu 'Amr said: And I heard Rabi'ah ibn Abi 'Abd al-Rahman say the same.

16 - I said to Abu 'Amr: [He says] it touched my body, and I forgot to wash it? So he narrated to me that al-Hasan says: "If it was on your body, and you forgot until you had prayed," he said, "then repeat it within the time and outside of the time."

Then I saw Abu 'Amr abandon this statement of al-Hasan, and he said: "Repeat it within the time, but if the time has passed, there is no repetition upon you."

I said to Abu 'Amr: Is it the same for animal dung? He said: "Yes." Abu 'Amr said: "And likewise, if wine touches you, wash it off and repeat [the prayer] within the time."

Notes

(1) Thus it is written and vocalized in the original manuscript, but it appears the correct reading is: "urine (bawl)".

Notes
