Chapter: Wudu' from Camel Meat
• I heard Ahmad ibn Hanbal say: "One performs wudu' from camel meat." I asked: And wudu' from their milk? He said: "One does not perform wudu' from their milk."
• And I heard Ahmad—another time—say: "One performs wudu' from camel meat," adhering to the hadith of Jabir ibn Samurah and al-Bara', and he authenticated both.
• And I asked Ishaq, I said: A man ate camel meat, then prayed and did not perform wudu'? He said: "Repeating [the prayer] is more beloved to me."
• And I heard Ishaq—another time—say: "There is no wudu' from food or drink; milk or otherwise, nor from food touched by fire, except for what the Sunnah has come with regarding the distinction between camel meat and sheep meat. He commanded wudu' from camel meat and said: 'Do not perform wudu' from sheep meat.' In this is evidence that this is after the concession regarding wudu' from what has been touched by fire; because sheep meat has also been touched by fire, and a Sunnah is not abrogated except by its equivalent."
He said: "This position is strengthened by the statement of the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, regarding praying in camel pens, where he said: 'Do not pray in them, for they were created from satans; and pray in sheep folds.'"
باب: الوضوء مِن لُحُوم الإِبِل
• سمعت أحمَد بن حَنبل يقول: «يتوضَّأ من لُحوم الإبِل». قلت: فالوضوء من أَلبَانِها؟ قال: «لا يتوضَّأ من ألبانها».
• وسمعت أحمَد -مرةً أخرى- يقول: «يتوضَّأ من لحوم الإبِل»، يَذهَب إلى حديث جابِر بن سمرة والبراء، وثَبَّتَهما.
• وسألت إسحاق، قلت: رجلٌ أَكَل لَحم جَزُور، فصَلَّى ولم يتوضَّأ؟ قال: «يُعِيد أَحَبُّ إليَّ».
• وسمعت إسحاق -مرةً أخرى- يقول: «لا وضوء من طَعامٍ ولا شَراب؛ لَبَنٍ ولا غَيره، ولا من طعامٍ مَسَّتهُ النار، إلا ما جاءت به السنة في تَمَيُّز لُحوم الإبِل والغَنَم، فأَمَر بالوضوء من لُحوم الإبِل، وقد قال: «لا تَوَضَّؤوا من لُحوم الغَنَم»، ففي هذا بَيانُ أن هذا بَعد الرُّخصَة من الوضوء مما مَسَّتهُ النار؛ لأن لُحوم الغَنَم قد مسَّتهُ النار -أيضًا-، ولا تُنقَض سنةٌ إلا بمثلها».
قال: «ويُقَوِّي هذا القول: قَولُ رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم في الصَّلاة في مَعَاطِن الإبِل، حيث قال: «لا تُصَلُّوا فيها؛ فإنها خُلِقَت من الشياطين، وصَلُّوا في مَرَابِض الغَنَم»».
