175 - Fuḍayl b. ʿAbd al-Wahhāb narrated to us: Khālid al-Ṭaḥḥān narrated to us, from Sufyān b. Ḥusayn, from al-Ḥakam, or from a man, from Mujāhid, who said: ʿUmar b. al-Khaṭṭāb recited: {Gardens of Eden}, and he said: "A palace in Paradise having four thousand door leaves; at every door are twenty-five thousand of the wide-eyed maidens (al-ḥūr al-ʿīn). None shall enter it except a prophet" — then he said: "Congratulations to you, O Messenger of God" — "or a truthful one (ṣiddīq)" — then he said: "Congratulations to you, O Abū Bakr" — "or a martyr (shahīd)." Then he said: "And how could ʿUmar attain martyrdom?" Then he said: "Indeed, the One who brought him out of the house of Ḥantama is capable of granting him martyrdom."
