44 - Isḥāq b. Ismāʿīl narrated to me: Jarīr and Wakīʿ narrated to us, from Ismāʿīl b. Abī Khālid, from Ziyād, the freed slave of Banū Makhzūm, from Abū Hurayra, who said: "Indeed, in Paradise there is a tree in whose shade a rider can travel for one hundred years. Recite if you wish: {And extended shade}." He said: This reached Kaʿb, and he said: "He spoke the truth. By the One who revealed the Torah upon the tongue of Moses, peace be upon him, and the Criterion upon the tongue of Muḥammad, peace and blessings of God be upon him, if a man were to ride a young female camel or a young male camel and then travel around the base of that tree, he would not reach it before falling down from old age. Indeed, God, Mighty and Majestic, planted it with His Hand and breathed into it, and its branches are beyond the wall of Paradise. There is no river in Paradise except that it emerges from the base of that tree."
