7 - Muḥammad b. ʿAbbād b. Mūsā al-ʿUklī narrated to us: [Yaḥyā b. Sulaym al-Ṭāʾifī narrated to us: Ismāʿīl b. ʿAbd Allāh al-Makkī narrated to us: Abū ʿAbd Allāh narrated to us] that he heard al-Ḍaḥḥāk b. Muzāḥim narrating from al-Ḥārith, from ʿAlī, May God be pleased with him, that he asked the Prophet, Peace and blessings of God be upon him, about this verse: {The Day We will gather the righteous to the Most Merciful as a delegation}. He said: I said: "O Messenger of God, a delegation is nothing but riders." So the Prophet, Peace and blessings of God be upon him, said: "By the One in whose hand is my soul, when they emerge from their graves, they will be met with white she-camels having wings, upon which are saddles of gold. The straps of their sandals are a shining light. Every step they take is as far as the eye can see. They will reach the gate of Paradise, from the base of which two springs gush forth. If they drink from one of them, the radiance of bliss will flow in their faces, and if they perform ablution from the other, their hair will never become disheveled. Then they will strike the ring for it to be opened. If you were to hear the ringing of the ring, O ʿAlī, it reaches every wide-eyed maiden that her husband has arrived, so haste makes her light, and she sends her steward to open the door for him. Were it not that God, Mighty and Majestic, had made him known to him, he would have fallen prostrate due to the light and splendor he sees. He will say: 'I am your steward who has been entrusted with your affairs.' He will follow him, walking in his footsteps, and he will come to his wife. Haste makes her light, so she emerges from the tent and embraces him, saying: 'You are my beloved and I am your beloved. I am the pleased one who will never be angry, I am the blissful one who will never be miserable, and I am the immortal one who will never depart.' He will then enter a house that is 100,000 cubits from its foundation to its roof, built upon boulders of pearl and ruby, with red pathways, green pathways, and yellow pathways, none of which resembles the other. He will come to the couch, and upon it is a bed. On the bed are 70 mattresses, and upon it are 70 wives. On every wife are 70 garments, and the marrow of her leg can be seen from beneath the jewelry. He will consummate with them in the duration of a single night. Beneath them flow continuous rivers: rivers of water unstagnant and pure with no turbidity in it, rivers of purified honey that did not emerge from the bellies of bees, rivers of wine delicious to the drinkers that men did not press with their feet, and rivers of milk whose taste has not changed and did not emerge from the bellies of livestock. If they desire food, white birds will come to them, raising their wings, and they will eat from their sides whatever colors they wish. Then they will fly away and depart. In it are hanging fruits; if they desire them, the branch will bend down to them, and they will eat from whichever fruits they desire, standing if he wishes, or reclining if he wishes. And that is the statement of God, Mighty and Majestic: {And the fruit of the two gardens is brought near}. And before them are servants as if they were pearls."
