"And when they meet those who believe, they say, 'We have believed,' but when they are alone with one another, they say, 'Do you talk to them about what God has disclosed to you?'" The interpretation of al-Kalbi: 'Do you speak to them about what God has clarified to you in your Book regarding the matter of their Prophet, then you do not follow them, nor do you enter into their religion? This is an argument they have against you. 'Do you not then understand?' They said this while they were blaming one another.
﴿وَإِذَا لَقُوا الَّذِينَ آمَنُوا قَالُوا آمَنَّا وَإِذَا خَلا بَعْضُهُمْ إِلَى بَعْضٍ قَالُوا أَتُحَدِّثُونَهُمْ بِمَا فَتَحَ الله عَلَيْكُم﴾ تَفْسِير الْكَلْبِيّ: أتحدثونهم بِمَا بَين اللَّه لكم فِي كتابكُمْ من أَمر نَبِيّهم، ثمَّ لَا تتبعونهم، وَلا تدخلون فِي دينهم؛ هَذِه حجَّة لَهُم عَلَيْكُم ﴿أَفَلا تَعْقِلُونَ﴾ قَالُوا هَذَا وهم يتلاومون
