as well; therefore, their rulings became contradictory. Thus, Allah the Exalted said: "Do you believe in part of the Scripture?" meaning: the ransom, "and disbelieve in part?" meaning: the killing and eviction from homes. "So what is the recompense for those among you who do that," He is saying this to the Jews of Medina, "except disgrace in the worldly life?" Al-Kalbi said: The disgrace is the killing and the exile. Consequently, Banu Qurayza were killed and Banu al-Nadir were exiled; Allah disgraced them for what they had done. [Verse 86-88]
