Translation · EN

"Say, whoever is an enemy to Gabriel - it is he who has brought it down upon your heart, by permission of Allah" [2:97], meaning: he brought down the Quran, "confirming what came before it" from the Book of Allah, may He be exalted.

Qatadah said: It was mentioned to us that Umar ibn al-Khattab approached a group of Jews, and when they saw him, they welcomed him. He said: "By Allah, I did not come out of love for you, nor out of a desire for you, but rather I came to hear from you." He questioned them and they questioned him, and they said to him: "Who is the companion of your companion?" He said: "Gabriel." They said: "He is our enemy from among the inhabitants of heaven; he reveals our secrets to Muhammad, and he is..."
