"And when his Lord tested Abraham with words (commands), and he fulfilled them," meaning: he acted upon them. The interpretation of Ibn Abbas is: they are the rites of pilgrimage. "He said, 'Indeed, I will make you a leader for the people.'" Al-Kalbi said: meaning, one through whose guidance others are guided.
