"That is a nation which has passed on," meaning: a group that has gone by. "And you will not be asked about what they used to do," meaning: you will only be asked about your own deeds. [Verse 135]
﴿تِلْكَ أمة قد خلت﴾ يَعْنِي: جمَاعَة قد مَضَت ﴿وَلا تسْأَلُون عَمَّا كَانُوا يعْملُونَ﴾ أَي: إِنَّكُم إِنَّمَا تسْأَلُون عَنْ أَعمالكُم. [آيَة ١٣٥]
