'The baptism (or coloring) of Allah,' meaning: the religion of Allah. 'And who is better than Allah at baptism?' meaning: in religion.
Muhammad said: It is permissible that 'the baptism of Allah' is in the accusative case (mansub) based on the meaning: rather, you are the people of the baptism of Allah. [Verses 139-141]
﴿صبغة الله﴾ أَي: دين اللَّه ﴿وَمَنْ أَحْسَنُ من الله صبغة﴾ دينا.
قَالَ مُحَمَّد: يجوز أَن تكون ﴿صبغة الله﴾ مَنْصُوبَة عَلَى معنى: بل تكون أهل صبغة الله. [آيَة ١٣٩ - ١٤١]
