[And indeed, those who differed over the Scripture are in deep dissension.] Meaning: They are in deep separation from the truth; and they are the People of the Scripture. [Verse 177].
﴿وَإِنَّ الَّذِينَ اخْتَلَفُوا فِي الْكِتَابِ لفي شقَاق بعيد﴾ يَعْنِي: لفي فِرَاق بعيد من الْحق؛ وهم أهل الْكتاب. [آيَة ١٧٧].
