[His saying, the Almighty: "And put forward for yourselves" means: children.
Yahya: From Qurrah ibn Khalid, from al-Hasan, [from] Sa'sa'ah, from Abu Dharr (Folio 31) who said: I heard the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) saying: "There are no two Muslims who lose three children [who] have not yet reached the age of accountability, but that [Allah] will cause them both to enter Paradise by the grace of His mercy towards them."
Yahya: From al-Hasan who said: The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said: "For me to have sent on a miscarriage is more beloved to me than to leave behind a hundred horsemen, all of whom fight in the path of Allah."
[قَوْله تَعَالَى: ﴿وَقدمُوا لأنفسكم﴾ يَعْنِي: الْوَلَد.
يَحْيَى: عَنْ قُرَّةَ بْنِ خَالِدٍ، عَنِ الْحَسَنِ، [عَنْ] صعصعة، عَن أبي ذَر] (ل ٣١) قَالَ: سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ يَقُولُ: ((مَا من مُسلمين يتوفى لَهما ثَلاثَةٌ مِنَ الْوَلَدِ لَمْ يَبْلُغُوا حِنْثًا، إِلا أَدْخَلَهُمَا [اللَّهُ] الْجَنَّةَ بِفَضْلِ رَحْمَتِهِ إِيَّاهُمْ)).
يَحْيَى: عَنِ الْحَسَنِ قَالَ: قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ: ((لأَنْ أُقَدِّمَ سُقْطًا أَحَبُّ إِلَيَّ مِنْ أَنْ أَخْلُفَ مِائَةَ فَارِسٍ؛ كُلُّهُمْ يُقَاتِلُ فِي سَبِيلِ اللَّهِ)).
