"Allah - there is no deity except Him, the Ever-Living, the Sustainer of existence." Al-Hasan said: The One who stands over every soul, watching over its earnings, preserving its deeds for it until He recompenses it for them. "Neither drowsiness overtakes Him nor sleep." Al-Hasan said: Drowsiness is light sleep (al-nu'as), and sleep; meaning: the sleep that overcomes.
﴿اللَّهُ لَا إِلَهَ إِلا هُوَ الْحَيّ القيوم﴾ قَالَ الحَسَن: الْقَائِم عَلَى كُلِّ نفس بكسبها يحفظ عَلَيْهَا عَملهَا حَتَّى يجازيها بِهِ ﴿لَا تَأْخُذُهُ سنة وَلَا نوم﴾ قَالَ الحَسَن: السّنة: النعاس، وَالنَّوْم؛ يَعْنِي: النّوم الْغَالِب.
