Muhammad said: It is said: A man became drowsy (wasana) when he felt sleepy. "Who is it that can intercede with Him except by His permission?" is like His saying: "There is no intercessor except after His permission" and like His saying: "And they cannot intercede except for one whom He approves." "He knows what is before them and what will be after them." Al-Hasan said: It means the beginning of their deeds and their end. "And they encompass not a thing of His knowledge except for what He wills," meaning: what the prophets know from the revelation. "His Kursi (Footstool) encompasses the heavens and the earth." [Qatada said: It means His Kursi filled the heavens and the earth].
Yahya [narrated] from al-Mu'alla ibn Hilal, from 'Ammar al-Duhni, from Sa'id ibn Jubayr, from Ibn 'Abbas, who said: "The Kursi which encompasses the heavens and the earth is the place for the feet, and none knows the measure of the Throne (al-'Arsh) except the One who created it."
