twice as much. "If no downpour hits it, then a light rain (tal)." Tal is lighter than rain. Al-Hasan said: It means that its benefit does not fail under any circumstances; likewise, Allah does not allow their spending to fail them in receiving good from it.
مرَّتَيْنِ ﴿فَإِنْ لَمْ يُصِبْهَا وَابِلٌ فطل﴾ الطل: أَضْعَف من الْمَطَر. قَالَ الْحسن: يَقُولُ: لَا يخلف خَيرهَا عَلَى كُلِّ حَال؛ فَكَذَلِك لَا يخلفهم اللَّه نَفَقَتهم أَن يُصِيبُوا مِنْهَا خيرا.
