Translation · EN

"And give good tidings to those who believe and do righteous deeds that they will have gardens beneath which rivers flow." (Verse 25)

Muhammad said: This means: gardens beneath which rivers flow; that is, beneath their trees, not beneath their soil.

Yahya said: It reached me from Aban ibn Abi Ayyash, from Anas ibn Malik, that he said: "It is the Garden where water, milk, honey, and wine flow (without a trench), and it is easier for it; the mud of its river is fragrant musk, its pebbles are pearls and jacinth, and its banks are domes of pearl."

﴿وَبَشِّرِ الَّذِينَ آمَنُوا وَعَمِلُوا الصَّالِحَاتِ أَنَّ لَهُمْ جَنَّاتٍ تَجْرِي مِنْ تحتهَا الْأَنْهَار﴾

قَالَ مُحَمَّد: يَعْنِي: بساتين تجْرِي من تحتهَا [الْأَنْهَار؛ ذَلِكَ إِلَى شَجَرهَا] لَا إِلَى أرْضهَا.

يَحْيَى: قَالَ: وَبَلَغَنِي عَنْ أَبَانَ بْنِ أَبِي عَيَّاشٍ، عَنْ أَنَسِ بْنِ مَالك؛ أَنه قَالَ: ((أَنَّهَا الْجَنَّةِ تَجْرِي (فِي غَيْرِ أُخْدُودٍ) الْمَاءُ وَاللَّبَنُ وَالْعَسَلُ وَالْخَمْرُ وَهُوَ أيسر عَلَيْهِ، فطينة النَّهر مَسْلَك أذفر، ورضراضه الدّرّ والياقوت، وحافاته قِبَابُ اللُّؤْلُؤِ)).
