"As for those who disbelieve, I will punish them with a severe punishment in this world and the Hereafter." As for in this world, it is that with which the disbelievers were punished through battles and the sword when they belied their messengers; and as for the Hereafter, [He will punish them] with the Fire.
﴿فَأَمَّا الَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا فَأُعَذِّبُهُمْ عَذَابًا شَدِيدا فِي الدُّنْيَا وَالْآخِرَة﴾ أما فِي الدُّنْيَا: فَهُوَ مَا عذب بِهِ الْكفَّار من الوقائع وَالسيف حِين كذبُوا رسلهم، وَأما فِي الْآخِرَة: [فيعذبهم] بالنَّار
