Volume 1 · Page 545113

Translation · EN

[They are not all the same]. He says: Not all of the People of the Scripture are disbelievers. [Among the People of the Scripture is a community standing] by the command of Allah; meaning: those of them who believed. [They recite the verses of Allah during the night hours], meaning: the hours of the night, [while they prostrate themselves], meaning: while they pray.

Muhammad said: The singular of "al-ana" is "inan," like "mi'an" and "am'a"; and it is also said: its singular is "inni."

قَالَ مُحَمَّد: وَاحِد (الآناء): إِنًى؛ مثل: مِعًى وأمعاء، وَقيل: وَاحِدهَا: إِنِّي.
