corrupts therein and sheds blood, while we declare Your praise and sanctify You?' Meaning: 'We pray to You,' according to the interpretation of some.
Muhammad said: The meaning of 'yashfiku' (sheds) is 'yassubu' (pours); you say 'safaktu al-shay' (I shed the thing) when you pour it.
The meaning of 'nusabbihu bi-hamdika' is: We declare You free from evil and we exalt You; and everyone who performs a good deed [seeking] Allah through it has glorified (sabbaha) Allah, meaning: he has exalted Him. The meaning of 'nuqaddisu laka' is: We purify ourselves for You. The origin of 'al-quds' in the language is: purification.
Allah, may He be exalted, said: 'Indeed, I know that which you do not know.' The interpretation of Qatada is: He knew that from that successor would arise prophets, messengers, and righteous people. [Verses 31-33].
