Translation · EN

"Those who spend [in the cause of Allah] during ease and hardship" (Quran 3:134), meaning: in times of prosperity and adversity. "And who restrain anger" (Quran 3:134). Muhammad said: The root of al-kazm (restraining) is containment.

Yahya [narrated] from Ibrahim ibn Muhammad, from Safwan ibn Sulaym, from Ata' ibn Yasar, who said: The Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) said: 'No one has ever swallowed a gulp that is better for him than a gulp of anger.'
