Al-Hasan and Qatadah said: When Allah, may He be exalted, said: "Indeed, I am going to set a vicegerent on the earth," they said among themselves: "Allah will not create a creature more noble to Him than us, [nor more knowledgeable]," and this is what they were concealing.
