"And it is not [permitted] for a soul to die except by the permission of Allah, a decree with a set term." It does not come early, nor is it delayed from it.
Muhammad said: "Kitaban" (a decree) is in the accusative case (mansub) with the meaning: He has written that as a decree. "And whoever desires the reward of the world, We give him thereof," similar to His saying: "Whoever should desire the immediate - We hasten for him from it what We will to whom We intend. And whoever desires the Hereafter - We give him thereof," meaning: Paradise.
Muhammad said: And His saying: "And whoever desires the reward of the world," it was said: Its meaning is: Whoever intends nothing by his deed but the world.
﴿وَمَا كَانَ لِنَفْسٍ أَنْ تَمُوتَ إِلا بِإِذْنِ اللَّهِ كِتَابًا مُؤَجَّلا﴾ لَا يَسْتَقْدِم، وَلَا يسْتَأْخر عَنهُ.
قَالَ مُحَمَّد: وَنصب ﴿كتابا﴾ على معنى: كتب ذَلِك كتابا. ﴿وَمن يرد ثَوَاب الدُّنْيَا ثؤته مِنْهَا﴾ مثل قَوْله: (ل ٥٣) ﴿مَنْ كَانَ يُرِيدُ الْعَاجِلَةَ عَجَّلْنَا لَهُ فِيهَا مَا نَشَاءُ لِمَنْ نُرِيد وَمَنْ يُرِدْ ثَوَابَ الآخِرَةِ نُؤْتِهِ مِنْهَا﴾ يَعْنِي: الْجنَّة.
قَالَ مُحَمَّد: وَقَوله: ﴿وَمن يرد ثَوَاب الدُّنْيَا﴾ قيل: مَعْنَاهُ: من كَانَ إِنَّمَا يقْصد بِعَمَلِهِ الدُّنْيَا
