Tafsir al-Qur'an al-'Aziz by Ibn Abi Zamanin
Volume 1 · Page 590152

Translation · EN

"And Allah has certainly fulfilled His promise to you," referring to the statement of the Messenger of Allah: "You will meet them and you will defeat them, so do not pursue those who flee." And His saying: "Until when you weakened," meaning: you became weak regarding the command of the Messenger of Allah, "and disputed," meaning you differed and became two factions; you fought them for two different reasons. "And you disobeyed" the Messenger "after He had shown you that which you love," of victory over your enemy. "Among you are those who desire this world," meaning: the spoils, "and among you are those who desire the Hereafter. Then He turned you away from them to test you, but He has already forgiven you," at the time when He did not completely exterminate you, "and Allah is possessor of bounty for the believers."
