"And let not those who are stingy with what God has given them of His bounty think that it is good for them." Muhammad said: Meaning, stinginess is good for them. "Rather, it is evil for them. They will be encircled by what they were stingy with." Al-Kalbi said: Two serpents will be coiled around his neck; they will bite his forehead and his face, saying: I am your treasure which you hoarded; I am the zakat with which you were stingy. "And to God belongs the inheritance of the heavens and the earth." Meaning: He will remain, and you will perish. [Verse 181]
﴿وَلا يَحْسَبَنَّ الَّذِينَ يَبْخَلُونَ بِمَا آتَاهُمُ اللَّهُ مِنْ فَضْلِهِ هُوَ خيرا لَهُم﴾ قَالَ مُحَمَّد: يَعْنِي: الْبُخْل خيرا لَهُمْ. ﴿بَلْ هُوَ شَرٌّ لَهُمْ سيطوقون مَا بخلوا بِهِ﴾ قَالَ الْكَلْبِيّ: يطوق شجاعين فِي عُنُقه؛ فيلدغان جَبهته وَوَجهه؛ يَقُولَانِ: أَنا كَنْزك الَّذِي كنزت، أَنا الزَّكَاة الَّتِي بخلت بهَا. ﴿وَلِلَّهِ مِيرَاث السَّمَاوَات وَالْأَرْض﴾ أَي: يبْقى، وتفنون أَنْتُم. [آيَة ١٨١]
